Final Details Before Break

Isn't the spring sunshine glorious (although me thinks a few flakes are on the way yet for Friday 🌨)

Chapel in the Forest tomorrow at 9:30! We can't WAIT!

Each of you are all well underway for report cards (Emily and Angie) and P/T Conferences. Please let me know if you need support, have questions or if there's anything I can do to step alongside!

Sassafras Ridge

This was in a previous email and we can talk through implications if you'd like, but Al from the township asked I reinforce this stipulation for our land usage:

Laketown Township planning commission granted our students a special use permit to travel back and forth from school to Sassafras Ridge. There are a few guidelines local residents (who enjoy the beauty and peace of this region) requested to be noted in the permit. The township has granted our classes access to the property if we arrive on the land after 8:30 and leave the property by 2:00. In an effort to be neighborly, please schedule your visits within that window of time. The township is very welcoming and interested in partnering with Holland Christian. This is a beneficial relationship for both the township and HC. We hope to remain accommodating and gracious neighbors by adhering to the terms of our permit.

Spring Things (I never know what to name these things ;) )

If you received dose two on Wednesday along with half of HC, I hope you are feeling well today! The sun is shining and it looks to be a beautiful, springtime weekend! Enjoy!

Chapel Change

Second Grade will be hosting chapel for us on Friday, March 26 at 9:30. See you there!

Hold the Date

We received word that Wednesday May 5 and Thursday, May 6 are full days. There are plans shaping up for the afternoon of Wednesday, May 5 for a home grown parade. More details will be forthcoming but please leave space in your scheduling that afternoon for some Tulip Time fun!

Find one fire safety tip. 3. Write down what MI city is most known for cherries. 4.Write a paragraph about your real life superhero. 5. Write down your favorite Kilwins sweet treat. To claim the prize, you must have a parents signature and show us at least two things you’ve completed. Good Luck!”

March Is Here!

New Team Members!

Our Forest Family is growing!!! It's official!!! We get to welcome Mackenzie Wierenga as our newest addition to the Forest Kindergarten teaching faculty. We're SO grateful for the journey she has been on. It is so clear that God has been preparing her for this newest role in the Forest. We have two full classes of kindergarteners and the best possible team of Forest Kindergarten teachers on the planet! In the next few weeks we'll start the process of matching teaching assistants and hiring for our openings.

In third grade, we are welcoming Erica Slenk as our newest member of the Forest Family! Erica is faithful, hard-working, creative and bubbling over with joy! She will be coming to visit the Forest soon as well as peeking around at her base camp within Pine Ridge! I can't wait for each of you to meet Erica!

Batons

Last year we ended with an entirely different year-end routine. Let's not do that again, shall we? Just a gentle reminder that each child at Holland Christian will be given a baton from you on the last day of school (or there abouts) if you have a new child or a missing baton, please contact Carla/Laura for a new supply. Some people do best pacing themselves and doing a few batons each week leading up to our final week. Some folks do best staying up until 3 am on the last night of school. Your call 😄 Just didn't want this to fall off your radar because last year was so unique.

Report Cards

Go home on March 26. If you would like your cards printed and packed, please let us know by Wednesday (March 24) morning at 8:00 a.m. That will give Carla and Laura enough time to send them to the printer!

P/T Conferences

Will be held from 4:00-8:00 on Monday and Wednesday, March 29th and 31st.

Summer Glow
