HCHS’s Theatre Department is proud to present Matilda for the Fall Musical this year! Based on the book by Roald Dahl, Matilda is the inspiring story of a girl with astonishing wit, intelligence, psychokinetic powers, and an extraordinary imagination who dreams of a better life. You won’t want to miss this incredibly fun musical. Performances are November 17-19 at 7 pm. Due to licensing restrictions we are unable to livestream this Fall’s production, but you can get your in-person tickets at hollandchristian.org/theatre beginning October 17th.

You’re invited to Swingin' the Night Away! November 4, 6:45-9 pm in the HC high school cafeteria. Enjoy swing dance lessons (6:45-7:30), a dance (7:30-9), dessert and the sounds of big band jazz. $5/person at the door. Music provided by the HC Jazz Bands and the Old Timer’s Band.  Bring your children, and your parents- it’s a delightful evening with loads of vintage charm!

Conference/Convention Week

Parent Teacher Conferences are a big ask of teachers. It takes a LOT of energy and stamina to pour your heart into parent conversations DOZENS of times over a short period. HOWEVER! I believe you have been brought into your children's lives for exactly this time in their journey. You are their entrusted partner. These conversations truly are celebrations of this important relationship. Many of them will remember YOU for the rest of their lives! Thank you for preparing for these conferences and I pray God grants you the energy you need to share you heart, skill, hopes and partnership next week.

Staff Meeting

Our next staff meeting will be held on the 18th of October from 11:30-12:15. If possible, could you please put out the all call for parent helpers to cover lunch? We'd love to have our teacher assistants join in this work with the results of our security audit and lay some plans for 1000 Hours Day!

Teacher Assistant Evals

Thank you for taking the time to sit together and glow about our glorious teacher assistants! They are a GIFT to us in the Forest. If you're able to complete the goal worksheet by Reformation Day together, we'll be tracking in a timely manner. The cells shaded in blue are the teams I've received the worksheet from. Let me know if you'd like some help in this.

Teacher Goals

Some of you have already received an emailed notice from Effective Educator from my pop in. This is a first round pop in. You'll notice on that check list that not nearly all of the heart, faith, intentionality you bring to your learning environment will be represented on this 10 minute pop in. That is as it should be. It serves just as a first round fly by. This is true for all first round pop ins for teachers at HC preschool-12th grade. Our next round will be a fuller picture of your work. If you would please select your goals by Reformation Day as well. This video can help you navigate how to select goals in Effective Educator.
